Position Overview

PAI is seeking a Program Manager to support U.S. Navy ship maintenance, modernization, lifecycle logistics, and program management activities in the Hampton Roads, VA area. This position supports complex technical and logistics efforts involving maintenance, repair, testing, product improvement, alteration, technical documentation, customer coordination, and program execution.

Key Responsibilities

·     Oversee multi-disciplinary program support of Navy maintenance, modernization, inactivation, and ILS.

·     Provide administrative and technical leadership in the performance of the contract, including responsibility for cost, schedule and overall performance.

·     Control expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.

·     Plan and procure necessary staffing to achieve work completion milestones and deliverables.

·     Monitor fulfillment of contract requirements to ensure quality and timeliness of services/deliverables to various customers.

·     Review reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objective and modify or change methodology as required to redirect activities and attain objectives.

·     Supervise, coordinate, provide leadership to and review the work of assigned staff.

·     Interface with customers on a regular basis for support of administrative and program management.

Required Qualifications

·     Bachelor’s Degree in any technical or managerial discipline.

·     5+ years professional experience in engineering.

·     Project Management Professional (PMP) or DAWIALevel III in Program Management.

·     Experience in management of engineering projects involving maintenance, repair, test, product improvement, or alteration of naval ship Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic and Ordnance Systems and Equipment.

·     Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

·     Master’s Degree in any technical or managerial discipline.

·     15+ years DoW/Navy program management,Government technical management, or industry business management.

·     Experience with developing, modifying and reviewing naval shipboard technical documentation.

·     Experience in the DOW material acquisition procedures.

·     Experience working with Naval Sea SystemsCommand, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Naval Shipyard, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair and Type Commanders’ organizations.

Work Environment

This position is located in the Hampton Roads, VA area and supports Navy customer coordination, program execution, reporting, meeting support, lifecycle sustainment, modernization support, and operational management of contract execution activities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced program manager with a strong Navy, DoW, shipyard, or maritime technical background; proven ability to manage cost, schedule, staffing, deliverables, and customer coordination; and direct experience supporting complex engineering, maintenance, repair, modernization, or alteration efforts for naval ship systems and equipment.
