Professional Analysis (PAI) is seeking an entry-level Data Analyst to support the processing and interpretation of customer data, focusing on generating and analyzing reports for NAVFAC's operational systems at the Washinton Navy Yard. This role involves understanding analytical processes, processing customer information, and creating reports that support decision-making.
About the Customer
NAVFAC Program Executive Office Industrial Engineering (PEO IE) Table of Allowance (TOA) Branch manages TOA requirements, oversees the authorization of equipment, systems, and material for Navy expeditionary units. This includes lifecycle management of civil engineer support equipment (CESE) and construction equipment executed primarily through the Navy Expeditionary Systems Program Office (PMO 305 and PMO 314) by providing the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force with essential materiel solutions to support critical missions related to rearming, refueling, resupplying, repairing, and reviving operations by enabling infrastructure solutions in Distributed Maritime Operations. PMO 305 and 314 leverages joint service solutions when feasible and develops unique solutions as necessary to meet the Navy's requirements. In addition to acquisition, these PMOs delivers lifecycle support for each item from delivery through disposal. PEO IE, known for its expertise in overseeing complex systems, will lead these initiatives as the Navy focuses on enhancing readiness for future operational demands.
Responsibilities:
• Process and interpret data, analyze results using basic statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize reporting quality.
• Develop analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
• Analyze trends in data related to operational systems.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Create and maintain visualizations to help present data in a clear and actionable way.
Requirements:
• Active or ability to obtain DOD security clearance.
• Data Analyst experience.
• Familiarity with Tableau and Excel and/or other data analytic/visualization tools in order to be able to conduct design and build formulas, charts, pivot tables, etc.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• SQL certificate, equivalent work experience, or the ability to learn.
• Knowledge of Defense Acquisition Systems, Navy Material Identification, and Life Cycle Logistics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required).
• Basic knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform (preferred).
• Understanding of basic statistical summaries (mean, median, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow analytical processes.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Additional Information:
• This Data Analyst position is at the Washington Navy Yard (WNY); however, contractors supporting this Task Order are currently teleworking from their home due to shortages of workstations at NAVFAC building.
